Boise Chiropractor Dr. Cramer-Coulter

I Was A Patient Of Chiropractic Before A Chiropractor

Coulter Family Chiropractic Chiropractor, Theresa Cramer-Coulter

Dr. Theresa Cramer-Coulter

I was a patient before I was the doctor. I had several auto accidents at 18 years old. After the accidents, I had pain in my neck and in my low back. I saw an orthopedic doctor who was unable to help me, except with pain medication and muscle relaxers. The worse part was that he told me I had scoliosis and fitted me with a corsett brace with 2 metal bars that went up my back. He said that I would have to wear this for the rest of my life and that having children would be very difficult for me. We didn’t know what we were going to do. The pain medication made me groggy and the brace was unbearable.

A co-worker of my mother’s recommended a chiropractor. I was a little skeptical since I was the first person I knew to visit a chiropractor but my options had run out. We went to see Dr. Parker, who began adjusting my spine. My first adjustment was amazing and I didn’t wear that brace ever again. After a series of adjustments, all the pain was gone.

Needless to say, my first experience with chiropractic was life-changing! It was then that I decided that I wanted to be a chiropractor.

My Journey Becoming a Chiropractor

Dr. Cramer-Coulter completed her pre-chiropractic studies at the State University of New York, Farmingdale, where she studies basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing her studies there, she was accepted at Life University, College of Chiropractic in Marietta, Georgia. During her four years at Life, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the Life University Clinic. After graduating in 1995, Dr. Cramer-Coulter moved to the Boise Area with her future husband, Dr. Coulter, to establish their practice.

“We love to see patients who have been through all other options before they try chiropractic” says Dr. Cramer. “I was in that boat and know what that feels like personally but I also know what chiropractic did for me and what it can do for others. I feel privileged to assist others in their quest for health. I have seen chiropractic help so many people including myself. Many people say that they “have to” go to work, I say I “get to” go to work. I wouldn’t want to do anything else. I love chiropractic.”

On a Personal Note

Dr. Cramer-Coulter is married to Dr. Scott Coulter. They have three children, Connor, Tristin and Trinity. (The pregnancies were easy and she practiced up until her 8th month with no complications.)
